Bimmertoday published the first live pictures of the all-new 2013 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe. The 4+1 seat addition to the 6 Series line was spotted in Augsburg, Germany. A Titan Silver BMW 650i Gran Coupe is visible on the photos.

The Gran Coupe is the third model in the BMW 6 Series line-up and a direct competitor to the Porsche Panamera, Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7.

The Germans offer a range of engines with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology; BMW 640i Gran Coupe with a six-cylinder in-line petrol engine (320hp), twin-scroll turbocharging, direct injection and Valvetronic; the BMW 640d Gran Coupe (313hp) with a variable sequential turbocharging and common-rail direct injection available from launch; and the flagship BMW 650i Gran Coupe with a new eight-cylinder engine (450hp), two turbochargers, direct injection and Valvetronic. All model variants are fitted as standard with an eight-speed sports automatic transmission and Driving Experience Control switch.

The first four-door Coupe in the history of the brand will make its grand debut at the Geneva Motor Show 2012 in March. For more information on the Gran Coupe check the official videos right here.

  1. Coupe? How is this different from a 4 door 5 series or a 7series. It’s a saloon! Where does the coupe bit come into it? Next thing they’ll be calling SUV’s roadsters. I am sick of all the marketing bullshit talk going around, just to niche another car nobody needs. Just like the Audi A7. What for?
