Lotus is planning the release of a revival of the Esprit sports car. Information suggests that the UK car maker will show a production ready car by the end of 2013. Thanks to a source, we are now able to tell you that the Esprit will be powered by a brand new and in-house developed V8 engine.
Lotus confirmed that they are working on a 4.8 liter V8 power plant with an output between 570 and 620hp. Furthermore, the Esprit will also come with a new chassis as Lotus can’t use the same one used for the Evora, Main difference is the engine that will be in the middle for the Esprit and in the front for the Evora.
