After seeing initial spyshots we got confirmation that Lamborghini would bring another version of their Gallardo, the LP550-2 Spyder, to the Los Angeles Auto Show. Yesterday evening the Italians unveiled the car during an invite-only release in Los Angeles.
The Gallardo LP550-2 Spyder comes, as the name suggests, as a roofless variant of the popular LP550-2 Valentino Balboni Edition that has been on sale for nearly two years now. Same as the coupe, the spyder will use the 550hp strong V10 pushing al power though the e-gear transmission to the rear wheels.
The sprint from standstill to 100km/h is done in just 4.2 seconds and a top speed will be reached at 317km/h. Awaiting live pictures from Los Angeles we can tell you that the LP550-2 Spyder weighs just 3,351 pounds and that it sits on 19 inch rims with standard Pirelli P Zero rubber around it.
Looks awesome in that blue, I miss the Valentino Balboni stripes though.
