Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster

It has been a while since we’ve seen the last spyshots of the upcoming 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Roadster. This time one of our readers, Alexander, stumbled upon another test mule of the upcoming Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster in a town a few kilometers from the Mercedes factory in Germany.

It’s no secret anymore that the Mercedes SLS AMG Roadster will make its debut at the IAA Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 later this year. While the main body of the car is still wrapped in tape the new soft top convertible roof clearly shows in the latest pictures. Because of the folding soft top the Gullwing doors have been replaced with conventional doors.

  1. Seriously what’s the point of this car? The SLS has the gullwing doors (which is kinda like a symbol) and looks brilliant, but this is just an expensive SL 63 AMG which doesn’t look as good as the SL 63 and the SLS coupe in my opinion.

  2. The point of this car is that the original 300SL had a roadster version. And IMO this looks better than the coupe. The coupe looks wierd with closed doors, which is 99% of the time.
