Ferrari F40 Auctioned in Surrey

Ferrari F40

The Ferrari F40 is sought after more and more. But as with most former supercars supply is low and good examples are very hard to find. Serious buyers got a great chance last saturday in Surrey where a so said ‘original and unmolested example’ was up for auction. The F40 in question was estimated to change owners for about £ 280,000 – £ 320,000.

To refresh your mind we can tell you that the F40 was the last model commissioned by Enzo Ferrari, celebrating 40 years of manufacturing at Maranello. During its production, from 1987-1992, the Ferrari F40 was the most powerful, most expensive and fastest car the company had ever produced, with 471hp. Production came to an end in 1992 after 1.315 F40’s had been produced.
