Recently seen in testing disguise is the 2018 Ford Mustang convertible. Spy shots from America show the muscle car with soft top testing on open roads revealing very little design details.

The facelift that is due in 2017 comes with a few minor changes after the iconic pony got a full redesign back in 2015. The fresh looks will largely come in the form of special editions and various new trim packages, such as the Mach 1.

Besides the minor aesthetic changes the biggest new feature on the 2018 Mustang will be a new 10-speed automatic gearbox. Further increasing efficiency, it remains unclear whether Ford will keep the naturally aspirated V6 in place. It makes sense that tied to the more efficient gearbox Ford will keep their assortment of Ecoboost engines on offer, next to the characteristic V8 power plant of course.

The freshly updated Mustangs will arrive at local dealerships early 2017.
