Gumpert is due to be revived at the Geneva Motor Show 2016 later this month. The original cars have become scarce now, which is why spotting these two for sale at a Japanese dealership is particularly special. One is an Gumpert Apollo Sport, the second is a Gumpert Apollo S.

The silver car is up for sale with Wing Auto of Nagoya. It appears to be the car that Sport Auto used to set their 7:11.57 time on the Nurburgring. If so, it comes fitted with the 700 hp 4.2 litre Audi V8 engine. It currently has 8,000 km on the clock and it is apparently chassis number 32 with a 6-speed sequential gearbox.

The black car is unregistered with 1,000 km on the clock. It is also a 2012 car chassis number 62 in left hand drive. The advert suggests that it comes with air conditioning and a TV tuner. This car also appeals to be a Gumpert Apollo Sport model and likely features the same 700 hp 4.2 litre Audi V8 engine as the Silver car.

If our suspicions are right, both cars weigh 1,200 kg and manage 0 to 100 km/h times of 3 seconds, 0 to 200 km/h times of 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 360 km/h. New, they cost around €325,000 depending upon spec. Although the Gumpert brand ultimately disappeared, any hypercar collection would be incomplete without one of these!
