Famous tuning house, G-Power, has managed to squeeze 380 horsepower out of the BMW M235i with nothing more than an ECU chip.

According to G-Power, tuning the M235i takes the company back to its roots, having made a name for themselves tuning early BMW 02 models back in the 1970s. While back then, heavy modifications to the engine were necessary in order to achieve big power numbers. Now, however, as G-Power have done with the M235i, an ECU modification is all that is needed.

G-Power offers two different version of power modules – the Bi-Tronik 5 V1 and the Bi-Tronik 2 V1. The Bi-Tronik 5 V1 is a plug and play module that interfaces between the factory ECU and the engine. This module is easily installed and uninstalled without any other modifications to the vehicle.

For those looking for even more performance along with a more customized installation, the Bi-Tronik 2 V1 is available. The 2 V1 remaps the factory ECU and allows the customer to customize options such as throttle response and power delivery. This module also takes into account modifications such as air filters, catalysts and other performance mods to help optimize performance even further.

In this particular M235i, G-Power was able to increase output from 240 kW to 280 kW. The sprint to 60 mph now comes up in just 4.5 seconds on the way to a top speed in excess of 250 km/h (with the optional G-Power V-Max increase mod).
