The McLaren P1 GTR represents the pinnacle of McLaren’s racing technology aside from Formula 1. The car is, of course, based on the sensational P1, but has been stripped out and hardened to become an incredibly aggressive looking, non street legal brute that only 35 lucky people will have the privileged of owning. Costing a cool £1.9million the awesome speed machines are now being delivered. That brings us onto this mouthwatering green and orange example that has just been flown over to the USA. The colour scheme is like no P1 we have ever seen before.

Compared to the road car, there have been modifications made to the engine of the P1 GTR. Typically the P1’s 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged engine and electric motor make 903 hp combined. However, in the P1 GTR, that has been increased to 986 hp (1000 PS) making it a menacing monster on the track.

Additionally, new race-prepared suspension has been fitted providing a fixed ride height which is lower than the standard car. The wing mirrors have been repositioned onto the A pillars to put them closer to the eye of the driver and reduce aerodynamic drag. Meanwhile, the trailing edge of the door-mounted radiator channels have been extended to draw more air down through the cavity within the door, and into the engine to aid cooling.
