A special variant of the BMW M5 has just been introduced in South Africa in the form of the M5 Pure Metal Edition.

Production of the car will be restricted to a mere 20 units with local pricing of R 1.948 million ($145,281 USD). The car is based around the range-topping M5 30 Jahre model meaning power from the 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 sits at 600 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to this power, the BMW M5 Pure Metal Edition accelerates to 100 km/h in a mere 3.9 seconds before topping out at 305 km/h.

Other key mechanical elements of the car include both the M Driver and Competition packages as well as carbon ceramic brakes, an active rear differential and modified suspension system.

Making this limited edition M5 special is the Pure Metal Silver Metallic paint scheme courtesy of BMW Individual. Additionally, the car includes 20-inch M double spoke alloy wheels, black Merino leather sports seats and Silverstone contrast stitching. There is also an individually-numbered plaque reading ‘Pure Metal M5’.
