Elon Musk Hints at Mystery ‘Model Y’ in Deleted Tweet

Tesla chief executive Elon Musk is known for announcing news about the electric automaker on his personal Twitter account. Recently however, it seems as though Musk went a bit too far after saying that a Model Y is being developed before he quickly deleted the tweet in question.

Musk was responding to a tweet from a fan asking if the already announced crossover version of the upcoming Tesla Model 3 will feature falcon doors like the Model X. In his tweet, Musk said “There will be a Model 3 and a Model Y. One of the two will”.

No other details about the car are available, but there’s a very good chance the Model Y will in fact be the crossover version of the Model 3 which will be stylised as ‘≡’. That means Tesla’s models will spell out S ≡ X Y, which is just another little one of the humorous touches we’ve become accustomed to from the company.
