The world’s fastest 2015 Subaru STI ran a quarter-mile in an impressive time of 9.1 seconds, achieving a speed of 245 km/h (152 mph) en-route, at the past Labor Day weekend. The STI, capable of producing over 1000 hp, belongs to Jr. Barrios and has been built with the help of Prime Motoring.

This Subaru was first fitted with AMS Subaru STI/WRX 950R Turbo Kit and AMS Intercooler System last year. This gave it a quarter-mile time of around 9.6 seconds. Barrios wanted it to go even faster and made some more tweaks this year, including fitting a larger Super 99 turbocharger, and the results were phenomenal.

“My goal was to run 8s on the 17s/Drag radials and I am starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I really need to thank all the people that believed in me and made this happen for me. The car works well and is an absolute brute on the road without compromising or turning it into a race car,” Barrios commented.
