It’s that time of the year when we present you with the nominees for the GTspirit Car of the Year awards. We only chose cars whose deliveries started in 2017. As with the previous years, our Car of the Year awards are solely based on votes from our editorial team. The winners will be announced on the 23rd of December.
Don’t forget to share your favorite car of the year in the comments below!
A few months ago I was quite certain that the award should go to the Dodge Demon for its ridiculous performance and affordability, but then the Mclaren 720S just blew me away. It’s hard to believe that a car that costs more than 280,000 dollars would have such a high value for money ratio. The 650S was already a tough competitor to the best in its class and the 720S had managed to beat a modified version of it by a respectable margin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SJGkpHIJUVQ
It reminds me of the performance gap between the Ferrari F430 and the 458 Italia a few years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgKjp1pq7iI
The 720S raised the bar to a nearly hypercar level, I think that’s an award-worthy achievement.

If the nominee includes a McLaren 720, tw V-12 Ferraris, and a Porsche GT3, I doubt if putting in a Honda Civic would make any sense.
1. McLaren 720S!
