Few tuners have been brave enough to take on BMW’s i8. The AC Schnitzer BMW i8 is one of the most comprehensive yet. It is on display at the Geneva Motor Show 2017 for the next couple of weeks. We swung by to take a closer look at what makes the AC Schnitzer BMW i8 different to other BMW i8’s!
AC Schnitzer have chosen not to mess around with the performance of the Bavarian sportscar. Much of the draw of this car is it’s ultra-low emissions and green credentials, which is probably the reason AC Schnitzer left the mechanicals unchanged. What they have done is to lower the ride height at the front by 25 mm and 20 mm at the rear to give the i8 a more aggressive stance.
The main parts of the modification are the satin red paint scheme which contrasts with copious amounts of carbon fibre. Carbon fiber elements include a distinctive carbon front splitter, carbon side skirts, and a carbon fiber rear wing. Carbon fibre surrounds the front bonnet and air intake, at the back a large carbon fiber rear diffuser provides a suction effect operating on the underfloor region of the i8.

So instead improving performance, they just made it less comfortable and less usable on the street? Good work!
