At the Geneva Motor Show 2017 this year, Hamann have a big display full of all sorts of tuned models. The Hamann BMW M2 is one such example. It features both aerodynamic and performance upgrades to push it beyond the standard BMW model. We took a closer look!
Hamann have developed a package of unique carbon fibre components. They include a new front spoiler lip which expands across the whole width of the vehicle and include s an optional central carbon-fibre insert underneath the grille. Side sills are also available with wingtips in front of the rear arches. The rear gets a Hamann spoiler and diffuser package.
Hamann equip the Hamann BMW M2 with an optional stainless-steel sports exhaust system. The system’s quad tailpipes are decorated with carbon-fibre or classic, silver or black anodised trim pieces.
Under the bonnet, Hamann have carried out some work on the engine. The 3.0 litre six-cylinder engine gets improvements from 370 hp to 420 hp while torque is improved up from 465 Nm to 530 Nm. The boost is realised by an additional control unit designed to optimise the ignition map. With both the six-gear manual transmission and the optional seven-gear dual-clutch transmission the Hamann BMW M2 manages 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds.
