Aston Martin have taken the opportunity at the Los Angeles Motor Show 2016 to unveil a new, more powerful version of the Aston Martin Vanquish. The Aston Martin Vanquish S features improved performance over the standard version of the Vanquish. Suspension, exterior and interior modifications are also on offer for the naturally aspirate model!

The Aston Martin Vanquish S has been officially unveiled packing 600 hp from its naturally-aspirated 6.0 litre V12 engine. It is of course the same product evolution the original early-2000’s Vanquish experienced mid life. Larger inlet manifolds allow a greater flow of air to the engine, improving throttle response and stronger power delivery. Faster gearshifts are promised from the recalibrated 8-speed Touchtronic III transmission.

Suspension modifications aim to deliver a better drive. Damper intervals, spring rates and anti-roll bar bushes have all bee tweaked to make the Vanquish S more responsive. The changes are said to make no compromise between sporting feel and ride quality. The Vanquish S should remain a supreme GT car as a result.
Exterior components include a new carbon fibre splitter and diffuser together with striking exhaust system. The new front diffuser contributes to reduced front lift while the rear bumper modifications give the Vanquish a striking look. Overall, the look is more aggressive with optional carbon fibre bonnet louvres and 5-spoke forged rims adding to that impression.

Inside, the Vanquish S gets plenty of opportunity for personalisation, A new ‘Filograph’ quilted leather debuts on the Aston Martin Vanquish S and materials such as Satin Chopped Carbon Fibre become available for the fascia panel. Owners will be able to spec a fancy Bridge of Weir Caithness leather. How very British…

Dr. Andy Palmer, Aston Martin President & CEO said: “From the moment the original Vanquish was launched it became a modern icon. It propelled Aston Martin from an era of hand-built cars to one where craftsmanship and technology combined to create a new kind of great British GT.

“In its second generation the Vanquish maintained that momentum with huge engineering advances such as its all-carbon fibre bodywork and compelling, contemporary styling. Now, the Vanquish S takes things a step further, confidently asserting itself within the Aston Martin range and distinguishing itself from the new DB11. A spectacular machine in every sense, the Vanquish S is a magnificent addition to our range.”

The Vanquish S will be available in both Coupe and Volante format with a recommended retail price starting at £199,950 in the UK, €262,950 in Germany and $294,950 in the US. Deliveries will commence in December 2016.
