One of the first to be reported McLaren 570S crashes took place near Shanghai in China over the weekend. A white example crashed head on with what looks like a SUV in the background of one of the photos.

Looking at the state of the British supercar, which is powered by a 3.8-liter twinturbo V8, it’s evident that the driver and possible passenger didn’t come out without a scratch. Airbags in both the wing doors, dashboard and steering wheel were deployed and there’s barely anything left of the car’s front.

Judging from the pictures, the supercar will be on a one-way trip to the local scrapyard, which leads to speculation on how fast it was going or whether it was a full frontal hit. Considering the dents and wreckage on both sides and a part of the rear of the car, it looks like the 570S spinned around before it came to a final standstill.

We can only hope that the driver and possible passenger have survived the crash.
