GTspirit does not condone this behavior. Tinkering with classic cars is rarely acceptable…but JUST LOOK at this Ferrari F40 fitted with HRE RS105 wheels in Satin Black. It may well be the equivalent of dressing your grandmother in fishnet stockings and 6 inch heels and parading here through Sunday service at the Vatican, but it is hard to dispute that – unlike your scantly clad grandmother – this Rosso Corsa looks sensational.

The wheels resemble those of the OZ Racing wheels fitted to a number of F40 LM examples and the satin black contrast is fabulous complete with the butterfly wheel locks.

Just 1,315 Ferrari F40s were produced, each fitted with a 3-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 471hp with 16psi of boost and 425lb-ft of torque at 4,000rpm. That potent powerplant is then mated to a 5-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. All told, the Ferrari F40 could hit a top speed of 201mph when new, and sprint to 62mph in just 4.1 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 11.9 seconds.

  1. Well written article, with a great sense of humor!
I would choose the stock wheels anytime, but I have to admit that these black wheels suite the Rosso Corsa F40 quite well.
