Preparation for next year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS) is in full speed with the organization having announced the provisional dates for next year. Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the most well-known and well-visited flagship motorsport events that takes place annually in Goodwood, England.

After the first press day, an array of classic cars, rare supercars and all-around automotive highlights take on the traditional hill climb. The 1.16 mile hill climb is a tradition ever since the first private edition held by Freddie March – the 9th Duke of Richmond – in 1936 on the grounds of Goodwood House.

The festival seems to be getting larger and more important each year, enjoying significant attention from some of the world’s largest car manufacturers. To give an example, Mercedes-Benz took this year’s Goodwood FOS as an opportunity to reveal their brand new Mercedes-AMG GT R.
