Lamborghini Working on Electric Hypercar Using Porsche Mission E Platform

Volkswagen Group’s cohesive platform development strategy is once again showing off its advantages with rumors saying Lamborghini is currently working on an electric hypercar using Porsche’s Mission E platform.

At least, that’s what we understand from this Autobild video report. The new electric Lamborghini is supposed to be named ‘Vitola’ and will use the Misson-E’s scalable architecture and fast-charging technology.

Electric but by all means a supercar: the report says that the Lamborghini Vitola will be able to sprint to a 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds, faster than the Aventador SV. It should also be able to reach a top speed of 300 km/h. Especially the acceleration capabilities of the electric Lamborghini seem interesting because the 600 hp twin-motor Mission-E has been said to do 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.

Lamborghini wouldn’t be Lamborghini if this project too, would be highly exclusive like the recently unveiled Centenario. While this is all speculation, if the new Vitola is to exceed the Aventador SV’s 740 hp performance, it could well end up having 800 hp or more to put out on the road.
