Paris 2016: Volkswagen I.D. Electric Concept Car

The Paris Motor Show this year is more than ever before focused on e-mobility. Volkswagen is showing a completely new full electric concept car, the Volkswagen I.D. which is confirmed for production.

The Volkswagen ID is based on a completely new architecture for electric cars dubbed MEB that can spur anything from this Golf-sized ID to a full electric sedan or SUV.

The electric engine paired to the rear wheels produces 170hp and has a top speed of 160km/h. Range wise the new I.D. promises a big step up from the e-Golf with a range of 400-600 km depending on its configuration.

The car features a very spacious interior with front and rear storage space. It also comes with autonomous driving system and takes connectivity to a new level with connected applications. When driving autonomously two indicators rise from the roof to make other road users aware of the self driving car.

As said production is confirmed and the first customer I.D. is expected to see the limelight in 2020. The price of the new full electric Volkswagen I.D. is expect to be between 25,000 and 30,000 euro incl tax.
