Second week of September, most holidays are over but the racing season isn’t at all. Last Wednesday and Thursday the track of Spa Francorchamps was opened for round 14 & 15 from Curbstone Track Events 2016. With a total of 18 track days on the calendar we are coming closer to the end but before that there’s a two day event in Barcelona, at Circuit the Catalunya and a final track day at Belgian’s finest track, Francorchamps.
The well-known concept of different race sessions divided into two parts, race cars in GT Race and road going cars in GT Sport, keeps on being a successful idea. Most eye catching under the race cars were the two Lamborghini Huracan SuperTrofeo’s and of course the Mercedes-Benz AMG GT3.
Among the road legal cars we saw a mix a usual with many Porsche’s and Ferrari’s but also a number of Aston Martins. The most special ones were two brand new DB 11’s, Aston Martin’s latest creation. A power output of 608 hp together with 700 Nm, lets the V12 engine of the Aston Martin sprint from standstill to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds up to a top speed of 320 km/h.
