Mercedes has released a new teaser for the upcoming June 24 reveal of the AMG GT R.

The new Mercedes-AMG GT R will make its official public debut at next weeks Goodwood Festival of Speed. While we don’t get any clear images of the car in the teaser gallery, Mercedes is describing the car as the “beast of the green hell.” Whether that refers to lap time, styling inspiration or development work we don’t know. However, it could have something to do with the fact that the AMG GT3 racecar won the Nürburgring 24 Hours race back in May.

This new range-topping GT will produce a reported 570 horsepower and be priced well above the current £110,500 of the GT S. The GT R is designed to be a limited production run, track-focused car whose underpinnings and chassis have been designed in order to meet GT3 homologation specs.

In order to create a track-focused monster, Mercedes will give the GT R a plethora of functional aerodynamic upgrades. These include a brand new front bumper and splitter assembly.

Additionally, a trunk-mounted carbon fiber wing can also be seen prominently in spy shots captured as the GT R undergoes development work.

The GT R will also feature the same style of grille that was first used on the GT3 race car last year.
