Following on the heels of the E-Class Estate announcement, Mercedes has also revealed information regarding the faster, AMG E43 4MATIC Estate version.

The new AMG 4MATIC Estate will be a Europe-only model that is powered by a 401 horsepower 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine. All of that power will be fed to all-wheel drive system via a 9G‑TRONIC automatic transmission.

While the AMG 4MATIC will only be offered with standard all-wheel drive, Mercedes engineers have biased the system on the AMG model more towards the rear. This, coupled with shorter shift times and model-specific sport suspension, means the AMG version of the E-Class wagon will be performance car to be reckoned with.

“In recent months we have considerably expanded our model range for performance-oriented customers with our new 43 models, creating numerous new ways of entering the world of Mercedes-AMG. The new E43 4Matic Estate adds a particularly versatile alternative for business and recreation to this portfolio,” says Tobias Moers, Chairman of Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

The new AMG Estate will reach 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The AMG model receives a revised front fascia including larger air inlets and a more muscular, firm stance.

The side view is dominated by high-sheen 19-inch AMG five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black.

Interior options include sport seats for the driver and passenger as well as red contrast throughout the cabin.

As with all AMG models, the Estate will come with multiple driving modes that are able to be selected at will by the driver. Five modes will be made available: “Eco”, “Comfort”, “Sport”, “Sport Plus” and “Individual”. Also available is speed-sensitive sports steering. This is a feature that allows for two different steering modes (Sport or Comfort) that can be changed on-the-fly by a touch of a button.

No pricing information has been released for the 2017 Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC Estate as of yet. We will bring you that info in the coming weeks when it becomes available.
