Today’s photo of the day is of the ultra-rare Pininfarina H2 Speed captured in the dramatic backdrop of Pininfarina’s wind tunnel.
The H2 Speed was debuted at this year’s Geneva Motor Show and is the fastest hydrogen-powered car ever designed. According to Pininfarina, the car can reach a top speed of 186 mph.
The sprint from 0-60 mph takes just 3.4 seconds.
Powering the H2 are two electric motors along with a hydrogen fuel cell. It also has a regenerative braking system installed.
“Also notable is the rapid refueling, unknown to traditional electric cars: a full tank of hydrogen takes just 3 minutes. The H2 Speed almost completely eliminates noise pollution too, the sound emitted by the motor being close to total silence,” Pininfarina is quoted as saying about the car.
