Mercedes-Benz delivered a total of 198,921 cars in March 2016, a record month for the company.

According to Mercedes, the nearly 200,000 cars delivered in March is the single highest delivery month in the company’s history. Over the entire first quarter of 2016 Mercedes delivered 483,487 vehicles, an increase of 12.6% over the same quarter last year.

Sales in Europe totalled 97,748 units of which 28,316 of those were delivered in Germany. In the Asia-Pacific region, 63,888 cars were delivered with 38,133 of those being delivered in China alone.

The NAFTA region also saw strong sales with a total of 32,856 cars being delivered. The United States accounted for the majority of those sales with a total delivery number of 28,164.

In terms of models, the C-Class broke the 40,000 unit mark with the help of last months sales.

For the first quarter Mercedes has sold 150,000 compact cars, an increase of over 25% compared to the same quarter last year.
