Spy shots of the upcoming Aston Martin Vantage GT8 have emerged as the car undergoes development work.
The Vantage GT8 will be a race-focused version of the Vantage and will compete directly against the likes of the Porsche 911 GT3 RS. As the name suggests, the GT8 will be based on the V8 Vantage platform.
Compared to the standard Vantage, the GT8 will be stripped down in order save weight. A total of 150 examples of the GT8 will be made with 40 of those destined for the UK.
If these spyshots are any indication it appears the GT8 will receive a similar style bodykit to that seen on the GT12.
Pricing is expected to start around the £170,000 mark not including optional extras.
Expect the GT8 to be revealed to a select group of customers as early as this week.
