Chevrolet has officially unveiled the 2017 Camaro ZL1 Convertible at the New York Auto Show.

The open-top version of Chevy’s Camaro ZL1 features the same supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine as the standard car and produces 640 horserpower and 640 lb-ft of torque. All of that power can be sent to the rear wheels via either a 10-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.

Chevy didn’t release specific performance figures for the new ZL1, however they claim the car will feature “comparable performance” to the hard top ZL1.

Interior changes include the addition of a flat-bottom steering wheel and special Recaro seats that feature red contrast stitching. As with the hard top ZL1, there is also a plethora of ZL1 badging on display in and on the car.

The 2017 Camaro ZL1 will hit showrooms early next year. No official word on pricing has been released. We will keep you updated as we hear more.
