The FAB Design VAYU GTR has been officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show 2016. Last year, we saw the VAYU RPR Spider, based upon the McLaren 650S Spider. This year’s showing improves upon the popular VAYU bodykit with some new components. We took a closer look at the Geneva show car up close!

The name VAYU comes from the Hindu deity, the lord of the winds, the father of Bhima and the spiritual father of Hanuman. The name has connotations of speed and the platform is either the McLaren 12C Coupe or Spider or even the McLaren 650S.

The bodykit consists of a redesigned front bumper, front bonnet with a two air vents and an aerodynamic panel at the top. The front and rear fenders are flared with multiple air intakes both in front of and behind the wheel housings. The roof gets a ram air intake with the rear receives a unique spoiler.

The rear bumper has been completely replaced increased venting, a new rear diffuser and central exhausts. The bodywork gets a new matte black look with matte red trim surrounds and clear coat gloss exposed carbon fibre.

A small power upgrade comes from the new exhaust system. FAB Design says that the kit adds an extra 32 hp as well as adding a fantastic soundtrack. The wheels are 20 inch FAB Design EVOLUTION units fitted with Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres with dimensions of 275/25ZR20 and 325/30ZR20.
