TVR has officially announced that their next generation of sports cars will feature a fully carbon-fiber structure.

The move to a full carbon fiber car is a first for the boutique sports car maker. According to TVR their upcoming model will be a limited edition launch model that will be made entirely of carbon fiber.

In order to make this happen, TVR has partnered with Gordan Murray Design, who has pioneered a cheaper process to produce carbon fiber that they call iStream. This process will allow for a full carbon fiber option to remain affordable to TVR customers.

TVR claims to already have taken over 300 deposits for its upcoming model. The Launch Edition of the car will come with carbon fiber as standard, with subsequent versions being made using standard composite construction (carbon fiber will be an optional extra).

The new TVR will be powered by a Cosworth engine. We will bring you more details as they become available.
