Mercedes-Benz has announced the price of the 2017 Mercedes-Benz SLC-Class for the U.K. market, where the sales will commence this spring.

The SLK’s replacement will come in two trim levels: Sport and AMG. The AMG trim is standard in the SLC 300 and the range-topping AMG SLC 43, but will cost an extra £4,000 in the SLC 200 and SLC 250 d.

Nonetheless, the cheapest model, the SLC 200 Sport, will cost £30,495. It comes with a 184 hp 2.0-liter engine and a six-speed manual gearbox as standard. The optional 9G-Tronic automatic transmission will mean an OTR of £31,980. Moving up the order, the SLC 300 is priced from £39,385. Under the hood is the same 2.0-liter motor of the SLC 200, but with an increased power output of 245 hp. Moreover, it is more than a second faster than the SLC 200 from 0 to 100 km/h with a time of 5.8 seconds.

The most fuel-efficient variant, the SLC 250 d, starts at £32,995. It is fitted with a 204 hp 2.1-litre diesel engine which has CO2 emissions of just 114 g/km. It’s worth noting that the SLC 180, which is the base model in mainland Europe with a 156 hp 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, hasn’t come to the U.K.

Moving on, the range-topping Mercedes-AMG SLC 43 costs £46,355. It gets AMG’s new 3.0-liter biturbo V6 engine that pushes out 367 hp and 520 Nm of torque. In case you are wondering, the 43 badge stands for the new AMG engine. The SLC 43 replaces the SLK 55 AMG, which sold for £55,350.

All the cars get the re-designed halogen headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights, sports pedals, Active Brake Assist, Attention Assist, chrome-plated twin exhaust system, remote boot lit release, Headlamp Assist and interior in a light carbon-grain trim. The Sport models get five-spoke 17-inch wheels (18-inch five-twin spoke available for £995), meanwhile, all other models get 18-inch AMG multi-spoke alloys.

The SLC 43 also has a new multi function sports steering wheel in nappa leather with perforated grips and a flat bottomed section together with red contrast stitching, black nappa leather interior and sport seats, LED Intelligent Light System and Adaptive Highbeam Assist Plus and AMG sports suspension, sports exhaust system, Handling Package and braking system. In addition to that, a dark carbon-grain interior trim is also available for this model.

Customers eyeing the regular models may be interested in the SLC 43’s LED Intelligent Light System, which is an option for £1,150 and is said to be helpful at night and in poor weather conditions.
