The Detroit Motor Show 2016 saw the debut of one of the luxury car segment’s most highly anticipated new cars, the Lincoln Continental Sedan.
The debut of the production version of the Continental comes a year after the first concept broke cover at the New York Auto Show in 2015. The production version maintains many of the styling cues from the concept car, with Lincoln following up on their promise to create “an elegant, effortlessly powerful, serene fullsize sedan that delivers quiet luxury to the industry’s most discerning customers.”
The new Continental is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that produces 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque.
“The Continental name has long been associated with the ultimate in Lincoln beauty and luxury,” said Kumar Galhotra, president of Lincoln. “With the all-new model, we are focusing on creating more human, personally tailored experiences for our clients – providing what we call quiet luxury.”
Interior comforts are abundant in Lincoln’s new flagship vehicle. Amenities include new 30-way adjustable front seats and climate-controlled and massaging rear seats. Audio is provided via a Revel audio system with active noise cancellation.
Expect the new Continental to hit showroom floors sometime this Fall.
