In the shade of the Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo, the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet was unveiled at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show. The open-top version of the last year premiered Porsche 911 Carrera and Porsche 911 Carrera S in Frankfurt was the only Carrera S variant still left to be unveiled.

Like the regular Porsche 911 Carrera S, the Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet is fitted with Porsche’s new twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine. Outputting 420hp and 368 lb-ft of torque, the 911 convertible only takes about 4 seconds to reach the 100 km/h mark.

The Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet is fitted with Porsche’s 7-speed PDK transmission. In combination with the new twin-turbo V6, this generation of Porsche 911 has the best fuel consumption yet, a mere average of 7.7 litre per 100 kilometers.

Visually, the facelifted 911 Carrera S underwent a small make-over. The LED day-running lights are slightly smaller at the front, the taillights are changed, the car features new wheels and door handles, a new engine cover and modified tailpipes. The paint job on this Porsche 911 Carrera S Cabriolet at the Detroit Motor Show is stunning too, it’s called Graphite Blue Metallic.
