Pictures which allegedly show a 2016 BMW M760Li have been doing the rounds recently. The photos allegedly show a leaked 2016 BMW M760Li; the photos having been pulled from an online configurator. The shots show the rear of the luxury limousine although confirm little else other than the badging.

The photos appear to show a couple of different variations. The first is the standard 2016 BMW M760Li in white with dual exhaust pipes. The second shows a 2016 BMW 730d with what looks like M-performance parts; a quad tail pipe is the most obvious. The final photo appears to show a 2016 BMW M760Li 60i. We suspect this might be a glitch.

Regardless of the last photo, it seems clear that BMW will built a 760 to rival the Mercedes-Benz S 600. Many suspect that it will feature the 6.6-litre V12 engine from Rolls-Royce, tuned to produce around 600 hp. Internally, that engine is known as the N74 and is currently used for the outgoing 760 with 544 bhp, the Rolls-Royce Ghost with 593 bhp and the Wraith with 624 bhp.

What we didn’t know until now is that the 760 would wear the M-performance badge. Expect a more performance oriented machine to avoid diluting the M-performance badging. In that respect, the 760 will more likely rival the Audi S8 and the Mercedes-Benz S 65 AMG as the ultimate autobahn mile-cruncher.

Expect a price tag of 140,000 Euro and a release to coincide with a major motor show.
