The driver of an absolutely insane 3000 hp Corvette recently encountered just what can go wrong when piloting such an immensely powerful car in a drag racing event.
Filmed at the recent WannaGOFAST half mile event in Texas, the Corvette was unable to find grip during its high-speed acceleration runs. This ultimately saw it begin to slide towards the end of the run.
The Corvette was travelling at such high speed at the time of the slide, that the parachute was ripped off. The car then speared off the runway and straight into the grass where it managed to get airborne Dukes of Hazard style
While the American sports car did suffer some damage, it could have been much worse if the car flipped and began to roll after sliding sideways into the grass.
