After much talk, the Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport has been revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2015. The car is a track-only variant of the immensely popular Cayman GT4 and the German marque hopes private teams will enter it in the likes of the Pirelli GT3 Cupy Trophy USA, Ultra 94 GT3 Cup Challenge Canada and the VLN Long Distance Championship Nurburgring.

Powering the Cayman GT4 Clubsport is the same 3.8-litre flat-six engine as the road car meaning it pumps out an identical 380 hp. Importantly however, the Cayman GT4 ditches the manual transmission of the normal GT4 in favour of a quick-shfiting dual-clutch transmission modified for racing and driving the rear wheels through a mechanical locking differential.

Elsewhere, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport has been adorned with the same suspension setup of the 911 GT3 Cup. Additionally, it has been installed with a 12-stage adjustable anti-lock braking system complete with a custom Electronic Stability Program. Porsche has also fitted 18-inch forged wheels wrapped in Michelin racing slicks. Braking performance is provided by six-piston calipers at the front and four-piston calipers at the rear clamping down on 380 mm steel discs.

Aerodynamically, there is a tweaked carbon fibre rear wing but the rest of the changes happen in the cabin which has been completely stripped of all unnecessary weight and luxuries.
