A $100,000 reward is being offered for information which leads to the recovery of a 2015 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster which was stolen in New York.

The mid-engined Italian supercar was stolen on October 28 in the neighbourhood of Queens and the private detective agency Pinkerton is offering the hefty reward. It is reported that the car could still be in New York City, in Atlanta or event being prepared for shipment overseas. Pinkerton believes that the car is tied to someone from Atlanta.

It is reported that the customer paid about $440,000 for the brand new Aventador Roadster and is evidently quite keen to get it back.

Certainly one of the most interesting elements of this story is that it reveals one rather major security flaw on the Aventador; it doesn’t have an onboard tracking system

At the very least, perhaps this theft will encourage supercar owners to have their vehicles installed with aftermarket trackers and security systems.
