Despite claims from Volkswagen and Porsche that its 3.0-litre TDI V6 engine doesn’t have emissions cheating software, the VW Group has announced a stop-sale for all of its models outfitted with this diesel V6.

Audi has issued a stop-sale across the United States for its 2013-2015 Q7 models as well as select A6, A7, A8, A8L and Q5 vehicles from the 2014, 2015 and 2016 model years. Meanwhile, Porsche has stopped sales of its 2014-2016 Cayenne Diesel variants while Volkswagen itself has temporarily stopped sales of the 2014 Touareg outfitted with this engine.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in the United States claims that at least 10,000 vehicles in the U.S. are equipped with the 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6.

Following this announcement, Volkswagen issued a statement categorically denying that its 3.0-litre TDI has emissions cheating software installed. Additionally, Porsche claims that as far as it knew, the Porsche Cayenne Diesel was fully compliant.
