Video: Facelifted Mercedes-AMG SL63 Tests Under Camo

A disguised prototype of the upcoming 2016 Mercedes-AMG SL63 has just been spied in the midst of testing. While we know that the facelifted SL will be introduced at the Los Angeles Auto Show 2015 later this month, it isn’t yet known when the AMG-branded model will be introduced.

Although it is impossible to be completely certain this is indeed the new SL63, the aggressive front fascia suggests that it is. While the front has been adorned in heavy camouflage, it appears to be lower than previous SL prototypes while also incorporating larger air intakes to help feed the powerful engine with additional air.

Generally speaking, the new SL range won’t be dramatically different than the current car. With that in mind, tweaked front and rear bumpers are believed to be on the cards as is a new bonnet and front grille. Headlights closely resembling those of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe can be expected. Additionally, the Multibeam LED technology is tipped to be used.

Interestingly, there’s a chance that Mercedes-Benz will expand its recently-introduced AMG Sport lineup with a new SL variant.
