G-Power has just revealed its latest range of tuning modifications for the potent BMW M5.

Typically, the twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 engine of the M5 pumps out up to 600 hp in range-topping specification. The G-Power upgrades include two different options. They include the Bi-Tronik 5 V1 performance module as well as the Bi-Tronik 2 V1 bespoke remapping system for the factory ECU.

G-Power BMW M5 740hp

For the Bi-Tronik 5 V1 performance module, it is a simple plug and play system. On the other hand, the Bi-Tronik 2 V1 remapping system is as the name implies, a remap of the factory ECU and it allows the customer to tweak elements like the throttle response and power delivery characteristics. All told, the modified G-Power M5 with either of these two upgrade packages lift power to 650 hp and 830 Nm of torque.

For those wanting more power, a total of 700 hp can be achieved simply with either of the two Bi-Tronik systems. The range-topping M5 upgrade includes a titanium exhaust system which results in a total of 740 hp.

“At G-POWER you’ll find just the right helping for your performance appetite

Since its debut in 2011 the M5 F10 gathers a fan base that is growing steadily from year to year. It has become the epitome for the term “Power-Sedan”, especially in its current version since it provides with 560 hp a power output upgrade compared to its predecessor of approx. 10%. Unfortunately this power plus comes along with an additional 120 kg in kerb weight. So, it’s no wonder that even the die-hard fans sooner or later are longing for more power. A desire, BMW seams well aware of since it offered the edition models „Competition“ and „30 years M5“ with 575 hp respectively 600 hp.

And for all those that are hungry for more power but don’t wont to opt for the pricy BMW edition models, G-POWER can offer just the right helping to satisfy your individual performance appetite.

The first course of the G-POWER three-course power menu is coming along with a modified ECU’s software. At the customer’s choice either the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 V1 performance module or the Bi-Tronik 2 V1 bespoke remapping of the factory ECU, is taking care of the ECU’s software modification. Both alternatives have their individual advantages. The Bi-Tronik 5 – based on a microprocessor-controlled module – comes with all the benefits of a plug and play device and the Bi-Tronik 2 bespoke remapping allows the individual wishes of the customer vis-à-vis throttle response and power delivery characteristics to be written into the software. After this first step made by G-POWER the performance output of the Bi-Turbo V8 engines jumps to 650 hp (478 Nm)/ 830 Nm.

For the second course of the G-POWER power menu the modification of the ECU’s software is not enough and additional modifications to the hardware are required. Primarily it is necessary to reduce the performance debilitating backpressure of the standard exhaust system. Therefore G-POWER installs in a further step flow optimized downpipes made from stainless steel that are equipped either without catalysts or with 200-cell racing-catalysts. As a result of the Bi-Tronik 5 respectively 2 in stage V2, the engine reaches powerful 700 hp (514 kW)/ 905 Nm.

And in case 700 hp are just not enough, G-POWER has still one ace up its sleeves: stage 3. With the Bi-Tronik 2 V3 a complete Titanium exhaust system – incl. Titanium 4-tip sport silencer and Titanium link pipes with resonators starting from the Downpipe – is added on top. With this modification done the power output limit is set to the new level of awesome 740 hp (544 kW) 975 Nm.

In addition to the power output increase the G-POWER Titanium exhaust system gives the BMW M5 a deep, throaty sound that turns heads but is at now time annoying and at the same time saves approx. 10,5 kg compared to the factory exhaust system. The G-POWER exhaust system is available with four Titanium or Carbon Tailpipes with a diameter of 100 mm each.

The powerful appearance of the G-POWER M5 is supported by the 21 inch G-POWER HURRICANE RR forged wheels, wrapped with tyres in the dimensions 255/30 ZR 21 and 295/25 ZR 21. The weight-optimized double spoke design – created in CAD and optimized by FEM analyses – highlights the BMW M5 F10’s masculine and sporty design. Combined with the use of ultra-lightweight aerospace aluminium for its production the G-POWER HURRICANE RR is not just a visually but also technically a piece of art. Hence it is no surprise that the G-POWER forged wheels in the dimension 9.0 x 21’’ and 10.5 x 21’’ are among the lightest wheels in their class.

Further details along with the prices for the G-POWER Bi-Tronik 5 respectively 2 and the ultra-lightweight 21’’ HURRICANE RR forged wheels are listed in our online shop.”
