Just a few days after Jeremy Clarkson, James May and Richard Hammond teased their upcoming hypercar track comparison for their Amazon Prime motoring show, Chris Harris has just posted a teaser video of his track comparison between the three hybrid hypercars.
Harris had the same three examples of the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach as the former Top Gear trio. Joining Harris for the comparison was Tiff Needell and Mario Franchitti. As with Clarkson’s, May’s and Hammond’s impending review set to air next year, Harris’ was filmed at the Portimaro circuit in Portugal with the three cars participating all being factory examples.
On paper, the McLaren P1 utilises a twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre V8 engine complemented with an electric motor. This results in a total of 903 hp. By comparison, the Porsche 918 Spyder combines a 4.6-litre V8 engine with two electric motors powering all four wheels and delivering 887 hp. Last but certainly not the least is the LaFerrari with its 6.3-litre V12 engine and HY-KERS hybrid system totalling 950 hp.
