McLaren has confirmed that in 2017, the 570S Spider will be introduced. Before the drop-top 570S arrives however, a second new body style will be introduced next year.

Details about the model debuting in 2016 remain scarce. However, according to previous reports, it will either be a Gran Turismo model focused more on everyday driving and practicality or alternatively, a hardcore 570S Longtail model. Whatever the case may be, it will add extra versatility to the McLaren Sports Series lineup and help attract additional customers to the British brand.

As for the McLaren 570S Spider, it will inevitably be powered by the same 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine as the coupe. Consequently, it should pump out the same 562 hp and act as a direct rival to the Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabriolet and the Jaguar F-Type V8 S.
