After raking in on the money, professional athletes often spend considerable sums of money on buying stunning supercars and customizing them, from Floyd Mayweather to NFL star Henry Melton. Melton acquired a Maserati GranCabrio MC around two years back and has tastefully modified his vehicle.

For starters, it has been finished in Satin White exterior paint, with black detailing. Both the headlights and the taillamps have been blacked-out, while matte grey wheels from Forgiato add to the menacing look of the two-door convertible. There’s also a Fabspeed Motorsport exhaust system, Evoms tuning set-up, H&R lowering springs, a new diffuser, K40 radar detection system and privacy glass. The seats are in beige in colour, although we would have preferred them to be in black or red, to look more eye-catching.

All the changes have been carried out by Auto Art Chicago in the United States. The stock GranCabrio MC generates 460 hp and 520 Nm of torque from its 4.7-litre V8 engine. It can propel from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 289 km/h (180 mph). The engine is paired to a six-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Worth around $20-$30 million, Melton is currently playing at Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He joined them as a free agent in March 2015 on a one-year contract. Before that he spent one year at Dallas Cowboys but he struggled to fully recover from a torn ACL that he suffered in 2013.
