While opinion about the second-generation Audi R8 range remains divided, there’s no denying the fact that the following example recently snapped in Germany is eye-catching.

This particular Audi R8 V10 Plus is noteworthy for its Nardo Gray exterior finish and most importantly, the Glut Orange side blades. Rather than a single side blade design like the outgoing R8, the new car features a split side blade which can be optioned in a plethora of different finishes. This orange scheme comes courtesy of the Audi Exclusive division.

Alongside the grey and orange elements, the R8 V10 Plus pictured features tightly spoked silver wheels as well as carbon fibre wing mirrors and a carbon fibre rear wing. These wheels are optional and add 1500 euros to the German supercar’s sticker price. Completing this R8 V10 Plus are the expensive LED laser headlights.

Both the Audi R8 V10 and V10 Plus come with a 5.2-litre V10 engine with quattro all-wheel drive and an S-tronic gearbox. The V10 delivers 540 hp and 540 Nm of torque while the V10 Plus pushes out 610 hp and 560 Nm of torque. The sprint from 0-100 km/h can be done in 3.5 and 3.2 seconds respectively. The V10 Plus can sprint from 0-200 km/h in a noteworthy 9.9 seconds. The Audi R8 V10 tops out at 320 km/h while the V10 Plus has a top speed of 330 km/h.

    • When I drove the new R8 V10 and V10 Plus recently all Plusses had a fixed wing – but it could be this is optional on the V10. Other than that I can’t really think of any obvious differences…
