It has emerged that the famous Monza circuit in Italy could soon lose the Italian Grand Prix.

There’s a possibility that the famous racetrack could lose the grand prix due to financial difficulties with a regional financial package unlikely to be finalised.

While recently speaking about Monza’s future, Formula One supremo Bernie Ecclestone said that there is a “good chance” Monza could be dropped from the Formula One calendar.

“I don’t know about Monza at the moment. I have meetings there in September so we will see. I hope we don’t lose it but I think there is a good chance we will,” he confirmed.

Monza has been home to the Italian Grand Prix since the Formula One World Championship started in 1950 and has hosted it every year expect for 1980.
