Ferrari F12 Berlinetta’s Engine Catches Fire in Turkey

Ferrari F12 Berlinetta engine fire

Supercars and fires have an all too familiar relationship. The latest exotic to fall victim to spontaneous combustion was a white Ferrari F12 Berlinetta in Turkey.

While driving the front-engined supercar on Turkey’s E5 highway, the driver noticed smoke and small flames bellowing from under the bonnet. He quickly pulled over and rang the local fire department.

Thankfully, fire crews arrived on the scene before the blaze spread beyond the engine bay inevitably helping to save the car.

With that being said, the flames themselves would have caused extensive damage to the engine while the water used to extinguish the blaze has also inevitably damaged the 6.0-litre V12.

Here’s hoping the car is ensured because it may be in need of an entirely new engine!
