Tomorrow, a menacing white Lamborghini LM002 is set to be auctioned off by RM Sotheby’s. Expected to sell for up to $150,000, the capable off-roader is unlike any other Lamborghini produced throughout the marque’s 52 year history.
This particular example was built in 1988 and is a carburetted model. That means its 5.16 litre V12 engine is joined with six Weber carburettors managing to pump out 444 hp – a figure still impressive today for high-performance SUVs. Since rolling out of the production line, the LM002 has travelled 52,000 km and even features Pirelli Scorpion tyres measuring 245/60 R17 which the LM002 was originally fitted with.
Amazingly, just 301 examples of the Italian off-roader were produced making it rarer than most other Lamborghini models. Until the new Urus SUV arrives, it is also Lamborghini’s only foray into the SUV market.
