BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe India Facelift Blue

BMW India has launched the 6-Series Gran Coupe facelift, starting at a price of INR 11.4 million ($178,800). The Gran Coupe facelift will be available in two trims: 640d Eminence and 640d Pure Experience.

The car was launched at the preview of the BMW India Bridal Fashion Week 2015, which will take place from 15 to 19 July.

Philipp von Sahr, President of BMW Group India stated at the launch, “At the heart of BMW is not only brilliant automotive engineering but also the desire to evoke emotions and spread joy.”

He further added, “Our automobiles are not just the end of a creative process but a beginning. BMW India Bridal Fashion Week has established itself as a unique avenue where the best of Indian fashion designers open doors to the latest trends in ‘Bridal Couture’.

“It is the perfect platform for the launch of the new BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe which combines absolute luxury and immaculate design with adrenalin rushing performance.”

The BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe facelift only has minor changes when compared to the outgoing model. There’s a new kidney grille, revamped bumpers, LED headlamps and fog lamps, sportier alloys and Heads-up Display (HUD) inside the car. Apart from that, BMW claims that it has improved the handling and fuel efficiency of the car.

Nonetheless, there are no mechanical changes to the latest 6-Series Gran Coupe. This means it will be powered by 3.0-liter six-cylinder TwinPower turbo diesel engine, producing 313 hp and 630 Nm of torque. Since BMW’s xDrive system is standard in this variant now, the power will be transmitted to all the wheels of the car via an 8-speed Steptronic Sport transmission. The car can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h.

The 6 Series Gran Coupe facelift will be sold as a CBU (Completely Built-up Unit) in India. It will compete with the Audi A7 and Mercedes CLS-Class as a four-door executive coupe, although it is relatively pricier than the two.

The vehicle will be available in nine different metallic paints and in Alpine White as a non-metallic color. Customers will also have the option to choose exclusive Nappa leather upholstery for the interior of the car.

“The BMW Individual Collection offers a wide range of high-quality options for discerning customers. The finest leathers, exceptionally sophisticated interior trims and brilliant paint finishes can be chosen to further personalise your BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe,” von Sahr said.
