A slightly facelifted variation of the third-generation Porsche Boxster has been spied testing on the Nurburgring ahead of a rumored debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. The cosmetic nip-tuck will be light, however some new four-cylinder powertrain options will be on offer.
The exterior changes for the 2016 Boxster appear to be limited to the front bumper and headlights, while the cabin could be in line to receive some minor tweaks also. The big news here will be new 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter flat four-cylinder engines, producing 286 horsepower and 360 horsepower, respectively. Rumours also hint at the availability of an entry-level 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine with 210 horsepower.
The Cayman should also receive the same front fascia changes and powertrain updates as the Boxster, but may be in line for a debut in early 2016 rather than late-2015.
Subtle changes but is certainly promising!
