The all-new 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe has been caught undergoing pre-production tests with less camouflage than ever before, showing off its S-Class Coupe-like shape for the camera.
Mercedes’ new two-door compact will have slightly sportier proportions compared to its four-door counterpart, with a wider track and slightly lower stance. The rear of the car looks almost identical to the S-Class Coupe, while the front end is more akin to the C-Class sedan.
The C-Class Coupe, which is expected to be joined by a drop-top cabriolet variant shortly after its release later this year, will likely carry identical powertrains to sedan and saloon variants. This will include the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, two four-cylinder diesels, 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, and the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 for AMG models. The hard top coupe will be offered in AMG trim, however a Cabriolet variants is not expected to join it.
Inside, the C-Class coupe should look exactly like the sedan, with a seven-inch ‘floating’ tablet entertainment screen and a sleek center console and dashboard layout.
